I'm the Managing Partner of Altum Legal, PC, a boutique corporate law firm in Los Angeles built by attorneys with Big Law pedigrees who chose to practice differently. Our team brings experience from firms like Perkins Coie and Cooley. We serve deep technology startups and venture capital clients across synthetic biology, AI/robotics, space tech, crypto/Web3, and fintech. Our core work includes SAFE and equity financings, priced equity financings, equity incentive plans, contractor and commercial agreements, entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, and VC fund structuring. What sets us apart is the combination of Big Law rigor with boutique responsiveness and pricing. We've also made a serious investment in AI-augmented legal workflows to build proprietary internal tools for document drafting, compliance tracking, and client management that allow a lean team to move faster and more consistently than firms several times our size. We position ourselves as fractional general counsel for seed-through-Series C companies, meaning we're embedded in our clients' businesses and operating alongside them rather than billing for one-off transactions. Our clients are founders working on technically ambitious, category-defining problems, and the early-stage funds backing them.
