I'm the Managing Director for APAC at Biztech Lawyers, though most of my work looks less like a 'title' and more like sitting across from a founder working out their next move. I'm dual-qualified in Australia and England & Wales, did an INSEAD MBA somewhere along the way, and spent five years as General Counsel at Rokt — which taught me what it's actually like on the client side of the table. These days I focus on M&A, capital raising, cross-border structuring and the commercial agreements that hold deals together, across our Sydney, London and New York offices. Before Biztech I learned the trade at King & Wood Mallesons, BT, the OFT, Booz & Co., JP Morgan and Macquarie. I don't think law should slow a good business down, so I try to give clear, practical advice and stay out of the way of the actual building. I genuinely enjoy working with founders — I usually learn as much from them as they do from me.
