About

Courtney Browne brings to her clients sixteen years of experience as a legal executive in VC- and PE-backed beauty, consumer goods and tech companies, where she drove corporate growth, transactions, risk management, and compliance across international markets. She helps growing companies scale strategically while keeping corporate momentum intact. Courtney's career spans in-house leadership at Birchbox, where she rose from counsel to General Counsel during the subscription pioneer's global expansion, and at TULA Skincare, where she built the legal function from nothing as the company's first GC and led its sale to Procter & Gamble. She most recently served as Chief Legal Officer of a PE-backed social good SaaS company, through a period of tremendous transformation. Her background guiding companies from early stage through important phases and acquisition allows her to design right-sized legal strategies for clients and implement them efficiently, without friction. She counsels companies for success today while preparing for the next phase, fundraise, acquisition, or exit—leading deals with customers, partners, vendors, and investors, and managing outside counsel so her clients only buy the outside expertise they actually need. Courtney lives in Brooklyn, New York. She is a member of the Friends of Macon Library and has served on the board of the Columbia Law School Association. She is an angel investor in early-stage companies, which keeps her founder empathy honest, and she spends her free time traveling and collecting local artwork.
