I started my own firm, Drake Legal, after years of practicing business law at large firms and in-house. Working with founders and entrepreneurs was so rewarding that I expanded my venture/corporate practice into trusts and estates, to be able to help these great people in other ways. Among my in-house positions, I was the sole US legal counsel to a fintech unicorn. While they seem different, fintech/financial innovation and trusts & estates practices are really two sides of the same coin. On one side, you are structure the systems that hold and manage people's assets. On the other, you are helping people navigate those structures and better understand where they sit within that web. For each set of clients, I enjoy educating and demystifying the complex.
