About

I help founders navigate the legal side of building a company — formation, fundraising, contracts, data and IP, people operations, governance, and data privacy. I also mediate co-founder disputes, because I've seen firsthand how misalignment early on (and later on!) can become existential. I have particular expertise with the needs of early tech companies, including insurtechs. Pro bono work is also important to me, and I am well-versed in non-profit formation and advising. My path to law was not typical, and I am a first-generation professional. Before law school, I was the founding executive director of CitySeed (a nationally recognized nonprofit that just celebrated its 20th anniversary). After law school, I worked at a law firm in the startup and emerging companies practice, and then moved in-house to originate the role of General Counsel at Veoci, a SaaS company (and one of my law firm clients) before working as Privacy Counsel at Block. Next, I was recruited to be General Counsel and Board Secretary of Ocho, a venture-backed, SF-based insurtech. Since leaving Ocho in fall 2024, I have been providing fractional GC services to startups. In spring 2025, I also co-founded Andus Labs, an AI consulting/advisory/builder start-up. I graduated from Yale Law School and later taught legal writing there, but it’s fair to say I learned as much or more about what founders actually need by being one. This means I care as much about preserving relationships and momentum as I do about inking agreements well — with investors, with co-founders, with team members, with partners — to lay a strong foundation to launch and scale, and ideally to help make this world of ours a better place.
