Hi! I'm Lara the Lawyer who loves Law. I am the leader of Brand Geek, one of the first 50 Certified B Corps in the world (since February 2008), and a member of 1% for the Planet since January 2006. I focus on serving other B Corps and social-good (aka social-purpose, social enterprise or ESG-focused) organizations, both for-profit & NGO. • In my legal practice, I joyfully: • Conducts intellectual property audits to identify assets • Counsels clients regarding trademark selection • Searches and clears trademarks for use and registration worldwide • Prosecutes trademark & copyright applications and maintains registrations • Manages clients' worldwide trademark portfolios • Records registrations with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) • Assists clients with online brand management & enforcement • Negotiates, drafts and / or reviews intellectual property agreements including non-disclosure and non-competition agreements, work-for-hire agreements, licenses, assignments, sponsorship agreements, and co-branding agreements • Resolves intellectual property ownership and infringement disputes through negotiation of settlement agreements, coexistence agreements and licensing agreements • Collaborates with litigation counsel when necessary in infringement and ownership disputes • Served as Intellectual Property Receiver in Righthaven copyright case
