I'm the founder of Marathon Counsel, a solo fractional general counsel and regulatory advisory practice for startups, fintechs, and growth-stage companies. I work with founders and companies from pre-seed through Series B and with regulated entities, including broker-dealers, prediction markets platforms, exchanges, payment processors, clearinghouses, RIAs, and digital asset platforms. My work runs on two tracks: embedded fractional GC and financial regulatory advisory. I price on fixed fees and subscriptions rather than the hourly clock, and I'm at my best in novel or unsettled areas, mapping a defensible path forward rather than applying a template.
